About

I'm interested in helping kids and their favorite grown-ups take a break from the busy day-to-day. It’s easy to miss the little things, like how cool a spider’s web looks in the morning dew, or the zippy moves of a hummingbird. That’s where our books come in. They’re like secret maps to the great outdoors, sparking curiosity and getting everyone excited about spending time outside.

My life & background

From Farm Fields to Public Health: A Journey Rooted in Nature Growing up on a sprawling 60-acre farm in Northwest Ohio, my childhood was a chapter straight out of the American dream. With my siblings by my side, we turned every nook of the woods and every corner of the barns into our playground. Those carefree days may have passed, but my heart still beats to the rhythm of the great outdoors. Whether it’s my hands in the soil or my gaze upon the fields, nature is where I find my joy.

With a nursing career spanning over a quarter of a century, I’ve seen how lifestyle choices impact our well-being. From nutrition to the environment we grow in, every aspect matters. That’s why I’m on a mission to nurture a healthier future for our children. By promoting wholesome living and connecting with nature, we’re not just taking care of ourselves—we’re planting seeds for the next generation to flourish.

Joining Hands with Nature: My Environmental Pledge I might not have all the credentials, but my heart is green and my spirit is wild. Being an environmentalist? It’s about more than a title—it’s a way of life. It’s about cherishing clean air, safeguarding our water, and being a guardian to forests, critters, and creepy-crawlies. It’s a big, interconnected world, and I’m all in to protect it!

My Family

The Heart of Our Story: Family, Inspiration, and the Magic of Seeing Anew In the tapestry of life, my family threads the most vibrant colors. My husband, the steadfast dreamer’s ally, showers me with the precious gifts of time and support, fueling my aspirations with his unwavering belief. Our son, Alec, is the spark that ignited my author’s flame. His childhood adventures in suburbia, where every day unfurled a new chapter, are etched into the pages of my mind and books.

Through Alec’s childhood eyes, the world revealed its wonders anew. The mundane became magical, and the overlooked blossomed into tales waiting to be told. It’s this fresh perspective, this childlike wonder, that I seek to share with my readers. For in the eyes of a child, nature isn’t just a backdrop—it’s a character, a friend, a teacher. And it’s through these stories that we, too, can rediscover the world, one page at a time.

Daisy Hill Publishing

Daisy Hill Publishing is a private entity and the designation as a 'publishing company' is nominal only. We do not offer or engage in commercial publishing services. At Daisy Publishing, we believe that books are more than mere products - they’re extensions of our hearts and souls. Here’s what sets us apart:

Purposeful Exclusivity: We’re not your typical publisher. Our focus isn’t on mass production; it’s on crafting meaningful stories that resonate with readers. We publish for kindred spirits who seek authenticity and depth. Guardians of Creativity: Traditional and online independent publishers often demand compromises. They ask for control over our narratives, characters, and even our dreams. But we guard our creative autonomy fiercely. Our books are born from passion, not market trends. Amazon? Not Yet: You won’t find our books on Amazon—at least not yet. We’ve chosen a different path. Our literary treasures are available exclusively through our website and at local events. Each purchase becomes a personal connection, a shared secret whispered among fellow nature lovers and educators alike. Nurturing Curious Minds: Our mission transcends pages. We author books that foster learning in a delightful, healthy way. Whether it’s a tale of nature exploration or finding one’s inner strength, our stories ignite curiosity and spark wonder.
